Description

Aldactone  – a substance Spironolactone (Spironolactone) is a diuretic.

Aldactone is a diuretic that can be prescribed to patients suffering from such illnesses as nephrotic syndrome, liver cirrhosis with hypokalemia, edema during pregnancy. It is used as an adjuvant in the complex therapy of myasthenia, as well as a long-term maintenance therapy for adrenal adenoma, if there are contraindications to surgical treatment.

Aldactone Dosages

The drug is used orally according to the scheme, which is determined by the doctor, depending on the type and nature of the disease.
It can be used to treat edema syndrome in children.
Contraindications and side effects
The drug is not prescribed to patients suffering from hyponatremia, anuria, hyperkalemia, Addison’s disease, diabetic nephromatism, diabetes mellitus. Not applicable in the first trimester of pregnancy and in violation of the menstrual cycle.

Side effects are possible from the gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary and nervous systems, skin. Among them: abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, gastritis, diarrhea and constipation, intestinal cramps, headache, drowsiness, dizziness.

The drug reduces the effect of anticoagulants and somewhat speeds up the metabolism. During treatment, monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes may be required.

Patients taking Aldactone should avoid foods rich in potassium.
